Future development

  • Blake Road Corridor
    A community assessment and a small area plan will guide future development in the Blake Road Corridor as land costs and other market conditions, as well as future light rail transit, attract higher intensity development.
  • East End Redevelopment
    The goal is to redevelop the primary area into higher density, mixed-use developments that include primarily office, housing, and limited retail uses.
  • Eighth Avenue South Redevelopment
    The City of Hopkins issued a Request for Proposals in June of 2010 asking developers to propose a redevelopment project that would connect the future Downtown Light Rail Transit station to Mainstreet along 8th Avenue South. 
  • Shady Oak Road Redesign
    The goal is to design a roadway reconstruction plan that improves traffic flow on Shady Oak Road and provides redevelopment opportunities.
  • Light Rail Station Area Planning
    The Southwest Corridor LRT line will stretch approximately 15 miles from downtown Minneapolis to Eden Prairie, with three stations planned in Hopkins.
